When you start off, your JBP business is in non-existence. So you can start off  by Apply the Non-Existence Formula.
Following is a checklist of knowledge and skills that would be useful to succeed with JBP:

1. Use your brain more effectively -- see "Upgrade Your Brain" in the JBP menu. (this is free to all members.
2. Reasonable Reading and Writing skills -- learn Phonics, if necessary.
3. Understand the difference between actions that work (or are likely to work) and actions that don't work (or are unlikely to work)
4. Computer Literacy
5. Basic Money Skills.
6. Basic Copywriting -- see JBP Marketing FAQ and the JBP Tutorial: Marketing Essentials -- The Challenge! (Use Google to find websites where you can learn more about marketing.)
7. Promote by Email Signature.
8. Promote to SafeLists.
9. Promote by Posting in Discussion Forums.
10. Use of Autoresponders.
11. Build a Prospect List and Promote to it.
12. Article Marketing.
13. Create a Blog and/or Website.
14. Basic Search Engine Optimization.
15. Classified Advertising.
16. Ezine Advertising.
17. Social Media Marketing.
18. Marketing on Craig's List.
19. Marketing on e-Bay.
20. Video Marketing.
21. Offline Marketing.
